I read the latest issue right after it arrived and gained new insights about Marcus Aurelius. Having learned about him as leader and author of the Meditations, it was somewhat startling to learn about his more ruthless side, particularly as illustrated on the Column of Marcus Aurelius. Ancient Warfare is an excellent magazine, beautifully illustrated with well written and fascinating articles. A cut above most history magazines which are usually very superficial. Ancient Warfare volumes are ones I will keep and reread. Review by USA reader (Posted on 2/16/2014)
