As a PhD equivalent in modern/contemporary warfare studies, I'm also interested in ancient and medieval subjects. I first heard about Karwansaray magazines last winter, because they're not very widespread in France, and that's a shame, because they are truly first rate publications, better than a lot of university/scholar-minded ones. The quality of the stuff is overall amazing! AW III.6 , dealing with battlefield communications in ancient times, and standards civic cult in the roman army (and I'm truly fond of the 3 little boars, lol^^), is peculiarly interesting, as is the article on the battle of Cunaxa (I'm Xenophon's raving fan!), well linked to the more recent VII.5 theme on the Ten Thousand. I'm telling all my friends, fellow historians and teachers about AW & MW as worth reading! Congrats! Review by zwavgard (Posted on 3/30/2015)
