Stargrave hybrids Part 2

I love converting plastics and creating hybrids from two (or more) different kits. In my last blog, I looked at some of my work for Stargrave, and this post completes my recent conversions. Don't worry, I'll be back to more historical subjects very shortly! First up are the Atlantic Einherjar, or 'space dwarves'. While their weapons looked fine, I pondered how a few Stargrave weapons would fit into the mix. Beautifully, as it happens... The heads are a mixture of anything I could find, from dark age plastics to Frostgrave barbarian heads. The Stargrave arms For the most part fitted perfectly, without much modification. Next, I tried mixing in some parts from the Great Escape Games plastic gunfighters. I was pretty pleased with the results, very BraveStarr! [caption id="attachment_71553" align="aligncenter" width="501"] Deputised space folks![/caption] The Stargrave bodies mixed very well and the addition of the deputy badges finished them off nicely. I used a mix of sci-fi weapons and old west guns with sci-fi bits added. [caption id="attachment_71552" align="aligncenter" width="501"] "This planet ain't big enough for the both of us..."[/caption] Finally, I thought about taking Stargrave parts and converting them to fantasy. After all, I'd borrowed parts from fantasy kits... time to return the favour. [caption id="attachment_71554" align="aligncenter" width="501"] Cyclops men![/caption] The heads worked a treat! I now have a ragtag band of cyclops men led by the first of a group of mind flayers, yes the D&D Illithids! As always, converting and playing around with possibilities can be great fun. Now, to get them painted...
