Issue 137: The Battle of Marignano
Charles XII of France had been rather unceremoniously kicked out of Italy. On his death in 1515, his son decided to invade Italy anew. With a cavalry-heavy vanguard, his army made good progress into the Duchy of Milan. The Pope quickly made peace, but the Swiss thought they might repeat their victory of 1513, especially as the campaign, for the French, was 'over'. The French rearguard and artillery park was encamped in a vulnerable position when the Swiss attacked. Can they hold until reinforcements arrive?
