Poll Themes Volume V

Once again, it’s time for us to think about the themes for our next Volume of Medieval Warfare. Those of you who have been with us for some time will know what that means: time to help us decide by voting for your favourite themes. Below you will found our new poll for Volume V. Many of you have sent me suggestions for possible themes over the past several weeks. I have tried to incorperate as many of these as I could, though sometimes in a somewhat altered from.

There are only a few options related to Byzantine history. The reason for this is rather simple: we’ve already published several themes and non-theme articles on Byzantine warfare the past 2 years, including one Special. So, this time, we decided to make some room for a few of the other fascinating topics available. You will also notice that we haven’t included anything related to the Hundred Years War. However, fans of this popular theme need not worry: we already have something in mind which will surely satisfy your interest (and that of other readers as well, I’m sure).

Please note that you can place one vote per issue, so don’t forget to select an option for each of them. I suggest you take a look at each option carefully, as some may include aspects you might not think of at first. If your favorite topic doesn’t make it, don’t worry; popular themes might be used for an issue at the start of Volume VI, and the rest will be saved for the future.

As you can see, the poll starts with issue V-3, and we have also included the first issue of Volume VI. The themes of MW V-1 and MW V-2 are already fixed by us (the themes are ‘Traitors in the Middle Ages’ and ‘The reign of Charlemagne’, respectively). If you are interested in contributing to any of these issues, make sure to check out our Editorial plan for the proposal deadlines.

This poll will close on 15 October 2014.
