Auction for Kevin Dallimore's Redcoats
The renowned miniature painter Kevin Dallimore kindly agreed to do the front cover for our ‘Rise of the Redcoats’ theme in Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy 123. Now, that cover model is being sold on eBay to raise money for the Royal British Legion. All the models are 28mm.
Kev's masterpiece depicts a regiment of foot from the reign of Charles II and James II. The miniatures are from North Star's 1672 range. This era saw the English briefly ally with Louis XIV, the Sun King, in his war against the Dutch Republic. For the Dutch, the year 1672 marks the Rampjaar (the year of disaster).
Kevin has done an excellent job on these miniatures and they are painted to the highest standards. We will be publishing a follow on blog with a step-by-step guide on how Kev painted these minis.
The original cover consisted of 16 models. At the time, Kev stated it really should have been a unit of 24, so Kev painted 8 extra musketeers for the auction. We will run the auction for ten days and hopefully raise a decent amount for the Royal British Legion (Registered Charity No 219279). Kev has also kindly donated all of his fee for the front cover to the Legion.

The auction starts at 5pm on Wednesday 5th of July 2023 and runs for ten days.
