Catch the Pigeon!
Every year, Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy runs the Great Wargaming Survey. This helps us build a picture of our wonderful hobby today and see trends. As the survey has been running for ten years, this is an invaluable source of information, and the best bit? We make it available online for free for all to enjoy. There's lots to read.

Now, I know that a statistician will point out to me that the survey can never be a representation of the wargaming hobby, only of the people who take the survey… (thanks, Mr D!) but of course the more people fill out the survey the more accurate a representation of the hobby it becomes.
This year, Wargames Atlantic has kindly provided us with an STL file for people to print as a bonus for filling out the survey.
The choice of a carrier pigeon was an excellent idea, as we are asking people to relay their information to us.
Now how do we get this lovely sculpt and get it printed?
If you are fortunate enough to own a 3D printer (or unfortunate, as they can be temperamental), import your file into Chitubox and add the supports option. I've gone for light support and a density of about 76%. I've also angled the miniature, so most of the supports will be removed from the back.
Then all you need do is fill out your bed with other files and print! I have successfully printed out the model at 28mm but I suspect it'll print with at 69% (for 1/72) and probably at 50% (for 1/100) ok.
My first print used medium supports, which was a little heavy-handed of me. Nevertheless, it has come out very well.
If you don't have a 3D printer nor a friend with one, then there are several services which can print out your freebie model. I'm not that familiar with printing services, so if anyone has any recommendations, I'd be grateful to hear from you. Please leave a comment below!

I’m sure we can arrange something with the STL. Do you know someone who might be able to print it for you?
Is there anywhere I can get one of these mini’s as my grandfather served at arnhem and had something to do with the pigeons and signals. Thanks in advance.
Quite a few public library systems in the U.S. now have 3D printer services for little or no charge. I’m in semi-rural Arkansas, and every branch in my county’s library system has a fairly high-end printer. I can even email my files to my local branch and they put them in a printing queue for no charge. One would be advised to first make sure one’s branch library can handle the particular file type and size. Just a thought for those without a printer.
