Always look forward to receiving the BEST magazine on ancient military history there is! Kudos to all of you at Ancient Warfare - keep up the greaat work! And I've recently started listening to your podcast - love that too!

Somehow the magazine had gotten wet in the past, apparently before packaging for mail

An excellent publication and I look forward to each issue.

I liked the article on the White Huns, as you don't see too much written about them.

I know that you guys are professional historians, and therefore stay away from counterfactual history ("what if...") and also mostly avoid judging the ancients, both as to their morality and their competency. I appreciate that. However, it wouldn't hurt to, occasionally, have a somewhat lighter article about, for instance, the 10 biggest blunders by ancient commanders.

I really like the fact that you still follow the classical BC/AD convention, rather than the ugly BCE/CE format.

Great content, read it all!

As usual many diverese articles always on the cutting edge in the fields od Archaeology and Ancient History

I think it would be nice to have just one article per issue devoted to wargaming a topic from this mag. Ancillary to WSS but more an effort to really get at the research on the table top. Not that WSS doesn't do that but this would have an entirely ancients focus.

I would like more on Caesar's 10th legion

Always of intyerest and I love the Artwork.

I am especially appreciative of the Bardunias article on the shield wall's development. It ties into something I am working on myself. As always, the art work is splendid.

Brilliant magazine. Keep it going!!

The theme was particularly inspiring this issue (as usual!!) as I'm about to undertake creating a Greek archaic period army for wargaming and AW has now provided me with plenty of trusted information to help in gaming this period by giving me a greater understanding of battlefield tactics used.

Paul S.

I have just started reading but the article on the Hephthalites was refreshing, shining light on an overlooked empire.

J
James C.

I haven't complete reading it yet, but as usual is is full of interesting, educational and enlightening information and images.

M
Marian D.H.

It's always an interesting mix of topics. As an archaeologist not working in archaeology, I really appreciate the short rundowns to keep in touch with topics like that.

Just a general comment, please insure that I'm notified when my subscription ends, I'll be wanting to renew it. Also, I'm not seeing your sister publication Medieval World in shops really at all. You might want to reach out to vendors like Barnes & Noble to insure its availability.

M
Marius K.

Keep up the good work! And keep on working with good reenactors!

Murray, your article, titled "State of Play," is truly remarkable.
