Merry Christmas! Advent Calender finale 2025.

The final door on our Advent Calendar has been opened for 2025. So, how did we do? Let's have a look to see how our Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy Podcast team did this year.

Joe: After finishing the medic, I thought I’d try something different for the basing and go for a ruined European city feel (something I wanted to test out for a future Bolt Action project). I think these minis really suit this basing setting, and I’m really happy with how they turned out and how it ties the minis together. This has been a really fun project, and I’m looking forward to including them in my K47 Axis army. Merry Christmas, All!

Jasper: With the captain completed too and the base-less crew figures varnished several times to stand up to handling, I glued the figures to the bit of deck and bulwark I'd built. Pretty happy with how this came out, though I'm not sure how I'm going to use this in a game!

Angus: Disaster strikes at the most inopportune moments. I thought I might have finished the whole team, but I have been hit with a bad case of the flu this week and could not face any painting.

With only three of the Gridiron Nuns completed, I've had to graciously bow out.

Merry Christmas, one and all!

Mark: Now that the bases have been flocked, I'm calling these complete. The editor Guy asked for a scene with the Roman army, but I prefer my pictures to tell a story. For the final picture, you can see my wagons in action, ambushed by the Iberian infantry of Hannibal at Lake Trasimene! They certainly look in trouble!

This has been a fun project, and I'll look forward to trying out all of my Epic collection on the tabletop soon.

Merry Christmas!

Guy: Phew! I just about managed to get the four miniatures done, and even added an extra one to the unit. This is the start of the unit of serjeants, which will be in the service of the Prince-Bishopric of Utrecht. They could do with some static grass and the odd tuft, but for now and with Xmas Dinner cooking, I'm calling these done.

We hope you've enjoyed our Advent Calendar presentation this year, and that it has inspired you to put some paint on your models.

A very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year from the team at Wargames, Soldiers & Strategy.
