The Great Wargaming Survey 2026
It's August 1st, so it's the start of another Great Wargaming Survey. For the thirteenth time (uh-oh) wargamers worldwide are invited to share their opinions and experiences so we can all learn about ourselves.
Compared to previous editions, there are some very familiar questions, a few new ones, a few questions that invite introspection perhaps, and more than a few old mainstays have gone. The idea, after all, is to keep things interesting and not just ask after things because we can!
As always, there's a discount coupon for everyone who takes part, a three-day unlimited voucher for the back issue archive, and a free STL for your trouble. There's also a chance to win a good few goodies! So please take a few minutes out of your day to make another GWS a great success!

Yes, of course they are valid wargames, as are hex and other forms of board wargames. WS&S is a tabletop miniature wargaming magazine, so we focus on that kind of wargaming for the survey. Moreover, if we wanted to reasonably cover all forms of legitimate wargaming, the survey would be far longer and far more complicated the build. It’s a matter of having to make choices, unfortunately.
Are appropriate computer games not also wargames??
