Issue 127 - Operation Biting

The founding of Britain's parachute regiment was inspired by the exploits of the German Fallschirmjäger in May of 1940. Most likely Churchill thought of the (glider) attack at Eben Emael, rather than the failed assault on The Hague.

Instead of an attack on an objective as the spearhead of an invasion, the first operation of the Parachute Regiment was a true raid. Germany's Würzburg radar needed to be examined by scientists in the UK. The men to get one, belonged to C Company, 2 Para.
