Issue 136 - Breakthrough to Kovel
The city of Kovel in modern Ukraine was an important logistics hub behind the front of Army Group North Ukraine. As such, there was perhaps more reason than normal to hold the city at all costs. In March 1944, the city was surrounded by the Red Army, leaving a small German garrison 'holding out' as ordered. On the night of 3-4 april 1944, recently reconstituted units of 5.SS Panzerdivision Wiking were began to open a corridor to Kovel and relieve the garrison.

I appreciate getting extra articles, but my interest in WWII covers only the Netherlands. As a whole it is far too big and complex to wargame other aspects of WWII. Unsurprisingly I play many WWII scenarios in other periods.
